Hi Folks, hope you have all had a great week and a splendid weekend as well.
As many of you will have seen this week via Facebook & Instagram I have been playing some sections from Jason Becker's tune Altitudes. It is one of my favourite shred tunes of a time that was very important in my growing up guitar wise and I have always wanted to learn it so I thought as it was the Easter, and i hand time on my hands, I would give it a go.
This also gave me chance to see if I could tone test the Roland Blues Cube to get that shred tone in additional to the crisp clean tone in the second section and you know what? It was made for it. Over the next two weeks I am going to make a full video with the sound recorded on pc rather than the phone to show how awesome and powerful these little belters can push out.
I have also been out and about with the Bowie Starman show, down on beautiful Hayling Island and my very talented wife Jeni got some amazing shots of both the great scenery and also the band. I am loving working with this band and working with another guitar player has been good for me as well.
So... on to another week ahead of teaching, recording, demoing and of course gigging where I will be playing in Stevenage on Thursday 27 April at the Arts and Leisure Centre. If you are in the area pop in and give us a shout...always good to see you.
Have a great week and enjoy some great shots from Jeni Lees.
